On MSNBC today, host Chuck Todd heatedly denounced Biden’s staff for trying to edit the Vice President's press pool reports.

“They edited the pool report.” Todd exclaimed. “They edited the print pool report!”

Politico’s Jonathan Martin and The Washington Post’s Chris Cizilla agreed that it was an "outrage," noting that the pool report was a product “of the press, for the press.”

“This is an outrage that they do this,” Todd said, suggesting that reporters might have to change their distribution model.

The press pool report is usually drafted by a reporter selected by print media organizations, and submitted to the White House staff for distribution.

Other reporters expressed outrage on Twitter.

“Beat the press 2012,” CNN’s Jim Acosta wrote on Twitter. “Pool report edits, quote approval, few avails, ropeline restrictions, interviews going to non news media.”
