The Associated Press announced moments ago that a Republican official has revealed that Mitt Romney has chosen Rep. Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential running mate. NBC’s Chuck Todd also reported this evening that three sources had told NBC News that Romney had chosen Paul Ryan.
The National Review’s Robert Costa noted that a charter plane flew from Boston to Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wis., yesterday.
Obviously the news in not official until a member of the Romney campaign goes on the record with the news, or the Mitt VP app goes off.
The Washington Examiner interviewed Ryan in May 2012.
[W]e have an affirming election, so we can actually have the moral authority and the obligation to put these things in practice in 2013, to dodge the bullet of a debt crisis before the bond markets get us.
And we think we have kind of a narrowing window of opportunity to do this, so we really believe we need to give the country a very clear choice of two futures. Now I can do that where I am right now, and that’s what I’m doing. So, as far as I’m concerned, I’ve got a great job, and I’m in a good position to make a difference, and I think I’ve done that, and that’s what I’m focused on. So I’m not trying to audition or say this position or that position. I think we’ve done a lot right now where we are, and I want to see this thing through.
