CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Restaurant owners across South Carolina are hoping they can draw residents to their tables during the seasonal lull in tourism.

The fourth year of Restaurant Week South Carolina is offering specials at more than 200 restaurants starting Thursday. The promotion extends through Sunday, Jan. 20.

Restaurant Week was created by restaurants as a way to lure diners into their establishments in January. It's traditionally the slowest time of the year for the restaurant business and the state's $15 billion tourism industry.

Many of the participating restaurants are listed on the website www.restaurantweeksouthcarolina.com .
