< p>DALLAS (AP) — A retrospective of works by one of Spain's greatest landscape painters is opening in Dallas.

The exhibit titled "Impressions of Europe: 19th Century Vistas by Martin Rico" opens Sunday at the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University. The exhibit featuring about 100 works includes paintings, drawings and sketchbooks. It runs through July 7.

The exhibit, previously on display at Madrid's Prado Museum, is the first museum retrospective devoted to Rico, who painted landscapes of several European countries, including his native Spain.

This is the fourth exhibit organized through the Meadows partnership with the Prado. Since 2009, the partnership has included the exchange of scholars, research, artworks and exhibitions.

Rico's most iconic works were painted during his time in Venice, where he worked from the 1870s until his death in 1908.
