RI gas prices drop by 6 cents

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The price of gasoline in Rhode Island is down by six cents from last week.

AAA Southern New England said Monday that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.88.

Costs for fuel in Rhode Island have dropped seven cents in the past month. The local price is 21 cents higher than the national average of $3.67 a gallon.

A year ago, gas cost $3.54 a gallon in Rhode Island.
