Office of Higher Education spokesman Mike Trainor didn't release further details Thursday evening but said officials would make announcements Friday. He'd said earlier officials hadn't been able to reach the Sawyer School's owner and called on the school to release student records. He said state police were contacted.
The OHE said the school's accreditation had been revoked because it didn't follow procedures. Trainor said 300 students were to resume classes Wednesday but were notified the school was closed. Sawyer trained students to become medical assistants and in office information systems.
Spokespeople at the school and state police couldn't be reached.
