Montgomery County police have identified a driver in an Oct. 12 crash who later died from her injuries.

Rockville resident Geneva Kelley, 84, was driving a Kia sedan on Laytonsville Road when she rear-ended an Acura that was stopped in traffic near the intersection of Brink Road in Laytonsville, according to police. A Mazda then rear-ended the Kia.

Kelly was transported to a local hospital with what police believed were non-life-threatening injuries, but she died on Oct. 20 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.

The driver of the Acura, 49-year-old Gaithersburg resident David Greene, and the driver of the Mazda, 46-year-old Arlington resident Cynthia Bonnette, were not injured in the accident, according to a police spokeswoman.

Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call the police collision reconstruction unit at 240-772-6620. Callers may remain anonymous.
