Romney campaign: Christie’s kind words for Obama is just “doing his job”

In a conference call with reporters this afternoon the Romney campaign was asked for their reaction to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s recent words of praise for President Obama’s reaction to Hurricane Sandy. Senior adviser Russ Schriefer said it was no slight to the campaign :

Governor Christie is doing his job. He is the governor of a state that has been hit by a very, very horrific storm with tremendous damage . People have lost their lives. He is doing exactly what he should be doing as the governor of New Jersey. And the president is doing what he needs to do. This is a case of the governor doing his job.
