During an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos aired this morning on Good Morning America, Mitt Romney declined to respond to President Obama’s accusation that Romney was the type to “shoot first and ask questions later.”

“And so– and no direct response then, when the president says you shoot first and aim later?” asked Stephanopoulos.

“Well, this is politics,” answered Romney. “I’m not going to worry about the campaign.”

Romney did not back away from his earlier criticism of the Obama administration, suggesting that they were more prone to “apologize” for America than to condemn the rioters for the attacks.

“What I said was exactly the same conclusion the White House reached, which was that the statement was inappropriate,” Romney said. “That’s why they backed away from it as well.”
