CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Mitt Romney is getting help with his presidential bid in North Carolina from two close allies — his oldest son and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

Rubin and Tagg Romney were scheduled to hold public events Wednesday in western North Carolina.

Romney campaign plans had Rubio attending a "Victory Rally" at a structural steel plant in Charlotte to tout Romney's trade policies should he be elected president. Rubio introduced Romney on the final night of the Republican National Convention.

Tagg Romney was going to Asheville to attend a lunch for campaign volunteers. He also was expected to hold public events Thursday in the mountains and in the Triad.

Rubio also was slated Wednesday to attend a lunch fundraiser for Republican 9th Congressional District candidate Robert Pittenger.
