Sen. Marco Rubio gave a speech at the Hispanic Leaders Conference in Florida today, calling for political figures of both parties to stop using the immigration issue to win elections.

“Yeah, I was tempted today to come and rip open the policies of the administration.” Rubio said, noting that they would speak shortly.

“I was tempted to come here and tell you ‘Hey he hasn’t been here in three years, what a coincidence, its an election year.’” Rubio said, “I was tempted to tell you ‘why didn’t he make this issue a priority.’”

“I guess I just did tell you,” he admitted sheepishly.

Part of the audience responded with laughter and applause.
