Islamabad categorically denied Monday that a two-day visit of the Saudi foreign minister was linked to former president Pervez Musharraf's ongoing high treason trial. Musharraf is in the hospital with alleged cardiac problems. The Pakistani foreign ministry, rejected any ulterior motive for Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal's visit and termed Musharraf's trial an internal matter, Xinhua reported. In 1999, Saudi Arabia had brokered an exile deal for then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif when Musharraf had ordered his arrest after toppling his democratically elected government in a bloodless military coup.
