Christina Aguilera is moving on after her split from Jordan Bratman — but she's not trying to flaunt it. The "Burlesque" star did her best not to be photographed with new beau Matthew Rutler, an assistant on the film's set, during a double date with Nicole Richie and Joel Madden in L.A. on Friday — even shielding him behind her as they sat together in the back seat of Joel's car.
"It's not serious yet, but it's something she is exploring and finding comfort in," a pal tells People of the soon-to-be-divorced diva's rebound romance. "It's new and she's taking it day by day."
"She and Jordan were having problems for a long time," notes Xtina's friend. "What kept them together is their love for their son [Max, 2]. She met [Matthew] on set and, during a difficult time, leaned on as a friend. After she and Jordan separated, the friendship turned romantic."
Well, so much for those rumors that Christina is seeing Samantha Ronson.
Lindsay Lohan, whose mother Dina says she is doing great in rehab — in fact, the Betty Ford center has been a "life-changing" experience.
"She's just a different person. She's been in a couple facilities, but this one to me has really changed her," the troubled starlet's so-called "momager" enthused to Matt Lauer on "Today." "She's learning the trigger points and why she turns to something — drugs or addiction."
With fewer than two months remaining in her court-ordered program, LiLo has moved from the center's main facility and into "a home," says Dina. The "Machete" actress has even been allowed to leave the premises for brief excursions to — what else? — go shopping.
And it appears that Lindsay is a different person in more ways than one: She's had a change of heart about estranged father Michael Lohan, who was previously turned away any time he attempted to visit her in rehab. But over the weekend, dad and daughter spent quality time together.
"It was an emotional reunion, there were hugs, kisses and even a few tears when Michael and Lindsay first saw each other," a source relayed to Radar Online.
Asked by the paparazzi site about the visit, Michael stated, "I have pledged not to comment about anything relating to my daughter. However, what I will say is that I am an incredibly proud father tonight. My daughter is progressing extraordinarily well."
Gotta love the "no comment" followed by a comment!
Speaking of starlets in rehab, TMZ has the scoop on the incident that got Demi Lovato booted from the Jonas Brothers tour and landed her in a treatment facility. The paparazzi site has ID’d the backup dancer whom the "Sonny With a Chance" star is said to have punched in an airport, leading to her prompt dismissal.
Alex Welch, a former contestant on "America's Best Dance Crew," reportedly got "a pretty nasty shiner" after Demi got out of hand, and is considering legal options. Demi, for her part, feels "awful" about her actions and is working through her emotional issues in treatment.
So what about the buzz that bad blood with Ashley Greene-ex-beau Joe Jonas's current squeeze, who was tagging along with the tour-contributed to Demi's freakout? "There is no truth to this rumor or any other rumors of conflict between the girls," the "Twilight" star's publicist insists to E!
