During his farewell address today, Sen. John Kerry R-Mass. thanked members of the media for covering him during his term in the Senate.

“I thank the reporters,” Kerry said, “Who catch us in the hallways, trap us, ambush us in the hallways, who despite all the changes and challenges in their business still dutifully document the first drafts of American history.”

Kerry specified that he was grateful for the journalists who covered the Senate activities “as a public service, not a sport,” specifically mentioning Politico’s David Rogers.
