Escalating concerns that the Obama White House has begun exacting revenge on its critics on Capitol Hill and the media, a long-time Oklahoma senator Friday charged that the president and his team have a Nixon-era style "enemies list."

Without providing further details, Sen. James Inhofe said, "I don't think that. I know that."

Inhofe, a Republican, told nationally-syndicated "Andrea Tantaros Show" Friday morning that he wasn't surprised when Washington Post Watergate sleuth Bob Woodward and other mainstream reporters revealed that they have been threatened by Obama aides for criticizing the administration's tactics, especially during the fight over the sequester. (Hear a two-and-a-half-minute part of that interview in the embedded player above this story.)

"Isn't this great that Bob Woodward is the guy that was saying this," Inhofe said, noting that White House anti-media campaign might have gone unnoticed if a journalist of less stature had complained. "For him coming out, that really lit up the board," said Inhofe. "I think Bob Woodward has really blazed a new trail that we are going to be under and it could change the whole complexion of the White House."

Inhofe charged that the Obama is using his "enemies list" to push his agenda, but that the press as a result isn't playing along. "You see more inconsistencies where he'll make statements that he really can't back up because he's used to having them just accepted by the media and they no longer are," he said.

But Inhofe said that the change in the media's approach to the Obama White House is coming too late. "Where were they when we needed them. We're still stuck with this guy for the next four years," he told Tantaros, who recently took over the 9 a.m-noon radio show formerly hosted by Laura Ingraham, who moved to a different network.
