WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — Police are investigating a shooting at McDaniel College in Westminster that damaged a campus building, but police say no one was injured.
College officials locked down the campus after the shooting, and students sheltered in place. College officials say lobby windows of a residence hall on campus were broken. A glass partition inside the lobby also was damaged.
The shooting was reported just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
After a preliminary investigation, Westminster police say several male students were confronted by another group of four males while walking back to campus. Police say a handgun was displayed during the confrontation. Police say the students walked away and entered the residence hall. A few minutes later, shots were fired through the glass.
Police searched the area, but the suspects were not found.
