Montgomery County police have taken a woman into custody after a report of a shots fired at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.

Police said the shots were fired after officials prevented a vehicle from entering the medical center campus. The vehicle attempted to run over a guard at the gate, prompting medical center police to open fire, police said.

Montgomery County police stopped a vehicle on Nebel Street in Rockville and took a female occupant into custody.

Authorities were not looking for any other suspects, and the investigation continues, Officer Janelle Smith said.
