Shots were fired while an FBI SWAT team was serving a search warrant in Prince George's County, officials said.

The incident occurred at a home in the 6700 block of Kipling Parkway in District Heights between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. A SWAT team with the FBI's Baltimore Field Office was serving a warrant in a criminal case being handled by the Washington Field Office.

No one was shot, but an adult female occupant of the home was taken to a hospital and has since been released. The woman sustained a superficial wound, and medical staff at the hospital believe that the woman might have been injured during a fall during the incident, an FBI spokeswoman said.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
