Sierra Club noodle scratcher: Shale gas is bad, but airplane fuel is okay?

Apparently the ends justify the means for the environmental group Sierra Club, which posted a photo of an airplane flying over a rally with a sign that said “shale gas = dirty energy.”

Can they not see the hypocrisy involved in flying an airplane – which uses heaps of “dirty energy” – to decry shale gas?

The plane was hired by United Shale Awareness, an anti-shale group based in Pennsylvania.
