Country music star Jake Owen had the near capacity crowd at the Fillmore Silver Spring in Maryland shouting "USA, USA, USA" at ear-splitting decibels Thursday night.

The shout out erupted in the middle of the high-energy show after Owen pulled a fan he'd met earlier that night on stage. The fan, whose name was lost in the crowd's roar, told Owen that his cousin, Brian, is active military stationed in Afghanistan. As a tribute to his cousin, the fan's karaoke song of choice is Owens' "Starting with Me," a song that implores listeners to effect change by changing themselves.

Owen and the fan sang part of the song together before Owen ceded the mic to the cowboy hat wearing crooner -- who we're told sounded pretty good.

Owens also received huge roars towards the end of the show when he donned a Baltimore Oriole's cap — and said he is rooting for the team.
