Ryan Lochte escorted his mother, Ike Lochte, to the Lincoln Memorial on Monday.

The Olympic swimmer hit the town to meet with lawmakers on behalf of the nonprofit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy to press for reauthorization of the Muscular Dystrophy Care Act.

He brought his mom and at least one of his five gold medals for a trip to Capitol Hill, where he met with lawmaker fans such as Sens. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa. and Bill Nelson, D.-Fla.

Lochte avoided the D.C. media while in town.
