Good thing there were no metal detectors at CPAC on Thursday, when Optimus Prime and Bumblebee showed up. The two "Transformers" characters -- actually two volunteers who deserve best costume prizes -- were in town to promote the book "How Money Walks," by Travis H. Brown. The gimmick -- that state policies "transform wealth" -- caught plenty of attention, especially since signing up for more information got attendees a free photo with the pair.
