< p>The Fenton Street Market will open its figurative doors on April 28 and will continue to occupy Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring seasonally on Saturdays for the next three years, market Director Hannah McCann announced on the market's website.

Until last week, it was not clear if the market would open. The county was asking for more money than the open-air market could afford to pay, McCann previously told The Washington Examiner, and was considering a multitude of options for Veterans Plaza, like mini golf

But last week the county gave the Fenton Street Market a three-year contract to operate in Veterans Plaza on Saturdays from the end of April through the end of October.
