HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Southeastern Louisiana University military history professor of History Harry Laver has been named a Fulbright Scholar, which will allow him to do research and graduate-level teaching in Ireland during the next academic year.
Established in 1946, the Fulbright Scholar Program is sponsored by the State Department.
A specialist in military history, Laver will work at the National University of Ireland in Maynooth, where he will offer a series of classes to complement the institution's existing curriculum. Among the offerings being considered are graduate courses in the American Revolutionary era, the American Civil War, Vietnam and a survey of U.S. military history.
