ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Prosecutors have dropped molestation charges involving the youngest two of three boys allegedly victimized by a suspended Erie high school social studies teacher at his home.
The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/SxDWbH ) reports Erie County Chief Deputy District Attorney Elizabeth Hirz withdrew six of nine charges faced by 41-year-old David Montgomery on Thursday.
They involved boys who were 6 and 9 when they were allegedly molested before Montgomery was arrested in March 2011. Charges involving a third boy who was 12 at the time and is now 14 will go to trial. Those charges are indecent assault, child endangerment and corruption of minors.
Montgomery's attorney has previously attacked the boys' credibility.
Montgomery has been suspended without pay by the Erie School District as a 12th grade social studies teacher.
