Speakeasy: CPAC does not have the droids Steve Schmidt is looking for

"This CPAC convention is increasingly the 'Star Wars' bar scene of the conservative movement."

- Steve Schmidt, veteran GOP strategist, Tuesday to MSNBC's Thomas Roberts. This year's Conservative Political Action Conference has taken flak for everything from moving locations to inviting Mitt Romney. Schmidt piled on, criticizing CPAC for exclusivity. GOProud, the conservative gay rights group, and New Jersey's Republican governor, Chris Christie, are apparently the droids in Schmidt's comparison, because they were not invited to attend.
