"So are we still going to go with climate change not being real fellow republicans?"

-- A tweet Monday night from Meghan McCain in the midst of Hurricane Sandy. The tweet was greeted with scorn by some in the Twitterverse. "It's as real as your 'intellect,' one person tweeted. Others calling her a "RINO," a "dumb blond" (sic) and a "twit." Others came to her defense. While not mentioning this specific Twitter controversy, a Tuesday article from Scientific American explained the nuances in the Hurricane Sandy/climate change connection. "... [M]any variables go into creating a big storm, so the size of Hurricane Sandy ... cannot be attributed to climate change," the author wrote. "However, that statement does not mean that we cannot say that climate change is making storms bigger. It is doing just that. ..."
