Speakeasy: White House rejoices at news of NFL referee deal

"It's a great day for America."

-- White House press secretary Jay Carney, speaking about the end of the NFL referee lockout on Thursday. The league reached a deal with the referee union on after midnight on Thursday, putting a stop to abysmal officiating that had embarrassed the NFL and apparently paralyzed the highest levels of our government.
