FARMERS' COCKTAILS

Imagine you just spent an hour or two strolling through Dupont Circle's FreshFarm Market on a beautiful fall afternoon. What better way to finish your relaxing stroll than with a signature cocktail from Bar Dupont? Starting this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Bar Dupont (1500 New Hampshire Ave. NW) is hosting an all-new Farmer's Market Happy Hour, which features a weekly cocktail made special with some of the market's freshest ingredients. Head bartender Brian Collins has a slew of seasonal cocktails lined up, including this week's Ginger Pear Cooler with pear, ginger and fresh rosemary. The next few Sundays feature Southern Peach Tea, Rye's Toddy with sage and more.

What's even better than a rich and savory cocktail? The price! The Farmer's Market Cocktail is offered for only $6.

BRUNCH AND THE BEAST

American-inspired restaurant Poste Moderne Brasserie (555 Eighth St. NW) will be the talk of the airwaves on Sunday thanks to Federal News Radio's food talk show "Foodie and the Beast." Talk hosts David and Nycci Nellis will be broadcasting live on the restaurant's patio at 11 a.m. for a unique, on-site brunch show. Chef Dennis Marron will be cooking up a delicious lamb from Virginia's Border Springs Farm, and mixologist Jason Wiles will show guests how to concoct the ultimate bloody mary. Poste will also feature Flying Dog Brewery's fall beer collection and Subarashii Kudamono's savory Asian Pear Wine.

Patricia Jinich, owner of Pati's Mexican Table, cookbook author Craig Rogers and funky blues artist Joe Chiocca are just a few of the featured guests. The cost is $35 per ticket.
