A group of talented, 30-something artists has created a slew of contemporary folk art pieces for the holiday season, and you're invited to view -- and shop -- the art exhibit. The show, Holiday Happenings, is sponsored by Art Enables, an entrepreneurial arts program that helps those with developmental disabilities express themselves through the visual arts. Every art piece they make is shown at the Art Enables studio (2204 Rhode Island Ave. NE), and they earn 60 percent of the revenue for every painting of theirs that they sell. You can purchase their newest artwork, ornaments, accessories and more for a discounted price on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. The exhibit runs through Dec. 21. Check out their website at art-enables.org and read more about the artists and the organization's mission.
