VOCALIST

This past Sunday we mentioned how excited we were for the Atlas Intersections Festival, which started last weekend and runs through March 10. More than 100 performing groups have come together to offer music, theater, dance, film and spoken word that epitomizes the diverse and talented H Street Northeast community. There are plenty of performances for you to see over the next week and a half, so if you haven't gone yet, we suggest you start Thursday night by seeing the very talented, Grammy-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann, who will be joined by guitarist Ben Monder. Together, they'll be performing works by Porter, Monk and more starting at 10 p.m. Reserve your free tickets online because this promises to be a great show.

While you're at Atlas (1333 H St. NE), you can also catch SpeakeasyDC's event #LikeMe, hosted by comedian Erin Jackson. It'll be a night filled with stories of how technology has changed the way we relate to one another. Story time starts at 7:30 p.m. Get your tickets for both events at intersectionsdc.org.

GUITARIST

Six-time Grammy-nominated guitarist Mike Stern will be sharing the stage this weekend with drummer extraordinaire Dave Weckl, and together they'll create an unforgettable sound. Stern is widely known for his fresh beats that are rooted in jazz, blues and soul. As the former guitarist for Miles Davis, he's enjoyed a 25-year career that has allowed him to work with other musical prodigies such as Weckl, who has been hailed as "one of the 25 best drummers of all time" by Modern Drummer's Hall of Fame. Weckl has collaborated with top musical artists such as Diana Ross and Simon and Garfunkel and has enjoy a successful solo career.

They'll be performing at Blues Alley (1073 Wisconsin Ave. NW) Thursday through Sunday, with performances at 8 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. each night. Tickets are $35.
