Step aside, Jack White: Hans Zimmer to pen 'Lone Ranger' score

"The Long Ranger," the anticipated Gore Verbinski film starring Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp, was originally set to be scored by rock Jack White. Formerly of the White Stripes, White was the frontrunner, but scheduling conflicts caused him to take himself out of consideration. No worries -- Hans Zimmer will step up to the plate. Zimmer's recently scored films include "The Dark Knight" and "Inception."
