A stolen Alexandria police cruiser was found in Prince George's County on Friday, police said.

Police announced Friday afternoon they were investigating the theft of one of the department's marked police cruisers: a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria stocked with a Remington 870 shotgun and a Panasonic Toughbook laptop.

The cruiser was taken from 2727 Duke Street sometime overnight Thursday. Police said the cruiser had been parked and locked.

Around 5 p.m. Friday, Prince George's County police notified Alexandria officials they had located the stolen cruiser. Police did not specify where or how the cruiser was found, and had not yet completed an inventory of the police property left in the cruiser.
