A pro-life group is calling on Speaker of the House John Boehner to defund Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider, before bringing any more votes on the debt ceiling to the House floor.

LifeCAUSE PAC  has a new ad targeted at Boehner, titled “Stop Borrowing for Baby Killing.”

“Forty years after Roe v. Wade, America is borrowing $50,000 per second from countries like China,” the narrator says. “Some of that money goes to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood kills 1 million American babies every 3 years. Why are we going into debt to kill innocent Americans?”

The ad then appeals to Boehner. “Mr. Speaker, you have the power to stop all of this,” the narrator says.  “Please lead this nation in cutting the debt and saving babies. No more votes on the debt ceiling until we end borrowing for baby killing.”

Planned Parenthood received 45 percent of its revenues from taxpayer-funded sources during the 2011–2012 fiscal year, totaling $542 million, according to its annual report.

LifeCAUSE PAC and Pro-Life Nation also plan to make phone calls to urge Boehner to eliminate federal funding for Planned Parenthood, according to the Daily Caller.

They will also call for reintroduction of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the Daily Caller reports. The bill was introduced in the 112th Congress by Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., but died in the Senate after passing the House.
