Student stabbed near Prince George's Co. HS

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Prince George's County police say a 17-year-old high school student was stabbed near Northwestern High School in Hyattsville.

Police say the incident occurred about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 6700 block of Belcrest Road, about a half-mile from the school. The student suffered injuries that were non-life-threatening.

Authorities say the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Police were interviewing people on Wednesday evening.
