Suspect identified in Wheaton homicide investigation

Montgomery County police have identified a suspect in the death of Wheaton woman found dead in her apartment building Saturday morning.

Police responding to reports of a domestic assault at 3:31 a.m. Saturday found 37-year-old Marcello Rocio Nikaury dead in the stairwall of her apartment building, located on the 220 block of Georgian Way.

Authorities are looking for 31-year-old Martire Puente-Fulcar, who lived at the apartment with Nikaury and her three children, according to police. Puente-Fulcar is wanted for first-degree murder.

Police described him as 6 foot 1 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds with short black hair. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt and tan pants, and may be driving a black Ford Edge with temporary Maryland tags of T558404.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 240-773-5070. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 leading to an arrest.
