OXON HILL, Md. (AP) — Police have arrested a man suspected in the murder or two women found dead this weekend in Oxon Hill.

Prince George's County police say 54-year-old Malcolm Paul Thomas of Oxon Hill was arrested late Saturday evening in Wakefield, Virginia. He is awaiting extradition back to Maryland.

Police were called to the 5500 block of Chloe Drive early Saturday morning and found two women inside with traumatic injuries. They were pronounced dead on the scene. The victims were not immediately identified.

Police say detectives quickly developed Thomas as a suspect in the case. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder. An investigation is ongoing.
