CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer delivered a rollicking speech (complete with dog metaphor) at the DNC, but he was upstaged by his own neckwear. Twitter went berserk when the governor took the stage wearing a bolo tie. It was the second bolo tie to appear at the DNC. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar donned one for his speech earlier in the week.

The bolo tweets came fast and furious, many of them complimentary but most of them mystified. Gwen Ifill of PBS summed it up best: "Bolo tie and blue jeans and...a blue pinstriped blazer??"
