How much are the Nationals worth?

Washington's baseball team is worth $631 million, according to a Forbes magazine ranking of 30 professional ball clubs. That makes the Nats the 14th most valuable team in the majors. The most valuable team is the New York Yankees, worth $2.3 billion, with the L.A. Dodgers coming in a distant second with a value of $1.6 billion. The least valuable team, Forbes said, is the Tampa Bay Rays, a bargain at $451 million.

Is the Shroud of Turin a fake?

After decades of debate, Italian researchers recently concluded that the shroud is not an ancient fake. The 14-foot linen cloth is imprinted with the image of a bearded man and is widely believed to be the cloth in which Christ was wrapped following his crucifixion 2,000 years ago. The latest tests date the cloth between 300 B.C. and 400 A.D., much older than an 1988 carbon dating test that concluded it was from 1260 to 1390 and too new to be authentic.

How long does it take to get to the space station?

It usually takes crews two days to reach the International Space Station, 220 miles above Earth. But a three-man crew including one American and two Russians launched on Thursday using an accelerated schedule that will allow them to reach the space station in just six hours -- or about as long it takes to fly from New York to London. The accelerated scheduled was tested using unmanned aircraft, but this is the first time humans attempted it.
