Did Iran ban foreign toilet paper?
A state-owned newspaper reports that the Iranian government is banning about 75 "luxury products," including cars, cellphones and toilet paper, so the $4 billion spent on those items could be used to buy domestic products instead. It's intended to bolster Iran's economy, which is being choked by international sanctions. Iran produces many of the products anyway, but its citizens prefer the better-quality imports. Critics charge that the restrictions will lead to increased smuggling.

Republicans worried that Goode, a former congressman and the Constitution Party presidential nominee, would take votes away from Romney in conservative southwest Virginia, where Goode lives. If Goode won too many Republican votes, it could have cost Romney Virginia and possibly the presidency. But Goode got just 13,584 votes in Virginia on Tuesday, not enough to spare Romney from his 111,000-vote loss to President Obama.
What happened to the producer of the anti-Muslim video that sparked international violence?
Mark Basseley Youssef, an Egyptian-born Christian and U.S. citizen, agreed to a plea deal that will send him to federal prison for a year, but not because of the "Innocence of Muslims" video that mocked the Prophet Muhammad and sparked violent protests across the Middle East earlier this year. Youssef pleaded guilty to probation violations stemming from an earlier arrest on fraud charges.
