SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A female math teacher at a San Francisco Bay area high school has been convicted of having a five-month-long sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/17tcSzC ) that 42-year-old Marie Johnson pleaded no contest to nine felony charges that could bring her a maximum prison sentence of nine years and eight months.
Johnson was arrested at Granada High School in Livermore in January 2012 after the boy told he was being molested. She initially pleaded not guilty.
Authorities say her relationship with the boy began with text messages, Facebook postings and instant messaging over the "Words with Friends" smartphone game, then graduated onto sex in the teacher's car and other locations.
Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15.
