OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) — DeSoto County and the city of Olive Branch will hold a ribbon-cutting and open house on Dec. 13 for a new technology center.

Classes began at Career Technology Center East on Monday.

The local school system partnered the city and county to renovate a warehouse at the site for the center. Discussions are ongoing for an educational partnership with Northwest Mississippi Community College, which has a facility next door.

County Supervisor Lee Caldwell says transportation distribution training is a part of what the center is doing.
