Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tex., celebrated the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln's Gettysburg address on Tuesday by reading aloud the words of the speech while standing next to the original text of the speech in the Library of Congress.

Cruz called Lincoln "perhaps our greatest president," praising him for "laying out the vision for the divine blessing that has ordained our great nation."

"150 years later those words still echo powerfully, about our shared values that bring us together as Americans," Cruz said.
