Teenager shot in Baltimore County in gun accident


ROSEDALE, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County police say a 17-year-old is recovering after he was accidentally shot in the neck.

Police say the shooting happened Saturday night in the 6000 block of St. Regis Road in the Rosedale area.

Authorities say the boy and other teenagers were hanging out in the basement of a home where someone had brought a gun. One of the teenagers was handling the weapon when it discharged.

A bullet struck the 17-year-old in the neck. Police say the boy was taken to a hospital but his injuries aren't life-threatening.

No charges have been brought and the case remains under investigation.
