Funeral services for Howard Baker, a former Senate majority leader and White House chief of staff, will be held Tuesday in his hometown of Huntsville, Tenn. Baker, a Republican who represented Tennessee for 18 years in the U.S. He was known as the “Great Conciliator” for his ability to forge common ground between Republicans and Democrats. Baker will lie in repose at the public policy center that bears his name at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville on Monday from 11 a.m.
