Vice President Joe Biden's smirky, laughing performance at the Thursday night's debate with Rep. Paul Ryan, the GOP running mate, is getting the spotlight treatment by the media, and now one national radio network is comparing his chortle to the Joker's death laugh in the 1989 hit Batman.
At the end of the movie, the Joker, played by Jack Nicholson, dies but a laughing device in his pocket plays on and on.
On Friday's America's Morning News, hosts John McCaslin and Dana Mills played Biden's and the Joker's laughs and made the comparison during an interview with Christian Toto of Breitbart News. Unlike the dead Joker, Mills said, "the vice president lives to fight another day."
Critics also had fun with the veep's laughing, featured in a mocking Republican National Committee video. The Family Research Council, for example, went so far as to make fun of the vice president's white teeth flashed often when he smiled and laughed at Ryan. They issued a statement that said, "If there's one thing this debate didn't lack, it was teeth. Vice President Joe Biden showed his so often that some people joked his dentist was the night's real winner. For 90 straight minutes, the former senator was a one-man laugh track--chuckling his way through the debate's most sobering topics."
