2 more women groped in Springfield

Two women were groped in Springfield within a half an hour of each other Wednesday afternoon, and detectives are looking into the possibility that they are the 16th and 17th victims of a serial groper, Fairfax County police officials said. In the first of the Wednesday attacks, at about 3:10 p.m., a 30-year-old woman was walking south on Dinwiddie Street near Dana Avenue when she was grabbed from behind and groped. In the second assault, which took place roughly 25 minutes later, a 25-year-old woman was walking south on Backlick Road near the intersection with Cabin John Road when she felt someone grope her. The attacker in both incidents was described as an Hispanic male, about 5-foot-6.

Ex-Georgetown student sentenced

A former Georgetown Law School student was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. Marc A. Gerson, 31, is one of three men who have pleaded guilty to distributing the drug around the Washington area. According to charging documents, between the summer of 2011 and December 2011, Gerson was a student at Georgetown and traveled to California to buy the meth and ship it back to D.C. In November 2011, D.C. police raided an Adams Morgan apartment shared by Gerson and a co-conspirator in the 1600 block of 18th Street NW. Officers recovered about three grams of methamphetamine, chemicals used for drug manufacturing and $3,000 in cash.
