Man sentenced for forcing teen to take nude pics

A Maryland man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for threatening a teenage girl into sending dozens of nude photos of her.

According to court documents, Joshua P. Blankenship, 25, of Calvert County, created a fake Facebook profile and befriended a teenage girl in January 2011. Two months later he asked the girl for a nude photo of herself, and she complied.

Blankenship then demanded 10 more nude photos and that if she did not produce them, she would go to jail because she had sent an illegal image on her cell phone. The victim produced several dozen pictures and sent them to Blankenship.

Woman ID'd in fatal crash

The woman killed in a car crash in Northeast D.C. on Tuesday morning has been identified as 72-year-old Catherine Cecelia Proctor.

Proctor, of Northeast D.C., was driving a 2009 Kia Optima on 12th Street NE near Varnum Street when the vehicle mounted a curb and crashed into a newspaper dispenser and a large tree. The Kia reentered the roadway, continued across the intersection, mounted the curb and struck another tree, D.C. police said.

Ex-P.G. cop seeks new trial in delivery man killing

A former Prince George's County police officer who fatally shot a furniture delivery man in 2007 is seeking a new trial and a reduction of his original sentence.

Keith Washington has a post-conviction hearing underway. He is serving a 45-year prison sentence and was convicted in February 2008 of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of first-degree assault and two firearms counts.

Washington fatally Brandon Clark and wounded Robert White when the two men were delivering a bed frame to the former officer in his Accokeek home.

Washington also served as former County Executive Jack Johnson's deputy homeland security director.
