Man slashed outside Metro station
A stabbing outside the Minnesota Avenue Metro station Sunday morning forced the station to remain closed until just before 8 a.m.
Just before 7 a.m. Sunday, two men got in a fight near the station entrance, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said. One slashed the other across the lower torso with something resembling a razor or box cutter. The 19-year-old victim is in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
The assailant ran, and a canvass of the area by D.C. and Metro police was unsuccessful. Police are reviewing security camera video for an image of the man but were not ready Sunday to release a physical description, Stessel said.
