National airport traveler found with loaded gun

A Virginia man was stopped at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after Transportation Security Administration officers found a loaded gun in his passenger carry-on bag, authorities said. Donald Gramling, 50, of Stafford, was cited Monday with carrying a weapon on airport property after TSA found a .40-caliber handgun loaded with five rounds and one bullet chambered inside his carry-on luggage. Gramling had a Virginia concealed weapons permit and said he forgot the firearm was inside the bag. The gun and ammunition were confiscated, and Gramling was allowed to catch his flight to Montreal.

Police: Man, 62, clubs roommate to death

A 62-year-old Capitol Heights man has been accused of beating his roommate to death with a club. Luke Osei-Kwame, of the 1100 block of Adeline Way, was charged with first-degree murder and related charges in the death of 59-year-old Anthony Taylor. According to Prince George's County police, about 8 p.m. on March 18, Taylor and Osei-Kwame got into an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.

No charges against deputies in death of Md. man

A Frederick County grand jury declined to indict three sheriff's deputies who attempted to remove a man with Down syndrome from a movie theater, leading to his asphyxiation death. The three deputies, working as mall security officers, restrained and handcuffed Robert Ethan Saylor, 20, in a Frederick movie theater on Jan. 12. An autopsy showed that Saylor died of asphyxia but suffered from other conditions including obesity and heart disease, according to State's Attorney J. Charles Smith. The autopsy also said Saylor had "anger issues." Smith also said the jury made its decision after hearing from 17 eyewitnesses and the three deputies.
